Nature Mood wins the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022 and the Sustainability Award
November 24, 2022
The Nature Mood series by Florim was awarded in the “finishes” category with the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022, the competition that celebrates excellence in international design.
The international jury – composed of 40 of the most influential names in international creativity – was impressed by the “concept and design” of the collection. Nature Mood also received the “Sustainability Award” for the “production technique that minimizes pollutant emissions,” awarded by a team of specialists in eco-design and sustainability in the field of architecture and design.
This ceramic series received double recognition for its creative combination of two materials: marble and wood effect. Nature Mood is the result of sustainable design that reinterprets the warmer tones inspired by the world of marbles with the clean and minimal veins of wood to create spaces that interact harmoniously. The surfaces range across different applications (flooring, cladding, furniture elements, ventilated walls) and stand out for their elegance and naturalness. The result is a “therapeutic” effect that helps restore the psycho-physical balance from which urbanization and technology often distance us.
An example of circular economy, Nature Mood is the result of a sustainable production process that recovers and optimizes 100% of raw waste and 100% of wastewater. Florim (certified B Corp) is able to self-produce up to 100% of the electricity needed for its Italian facilities thanks to two cogeneration plants and photovoltaic panels with a power of 12.3 MWp installed on an area of 127,000 square meters. When the sun is not enough, the company purchases energy only from renewable sources.
The seventh edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards evaluated this year over 800 nominated products from 50 countries and selected those that stood out for their pursuit of innovative solutions that embrace the culture of design.
