In the heart of the Florim headquarters in Fiorano, a center dedicated to training, research, and advanced medical simulation was established in 2014.
The Center
The Health and Training Center was established in 2014 through the collaboration between Florim and Ospedale di Sassuolo S.p.A, a unique project in Italy that combines industrial culture with healthcare, focusing on advanced medical training, research, and simulation.
The Center covers an area of over 600 sqm, organized into 8 modular rooms, dedicated to seminars, lectures, and simulation on 5 Accurate-Gaumard humanoids (newborn, child, 2 adults, and a pregnant woman).
In 2015, the Health and Training Center received the Authorized Training Site designation from the American Heart Association.

Health Meetings
They are open meetings for the community focused on the culture of prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
Certified AHA Training
Heartsaver BLS (Basic Life Support for laypersons), BLS (Basic Life Support for healthcare providers), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) courses.
Advanced Medical Simulation
Neonatal resuscitation, obstetric emergencies, and pediatric emergencies.
Technical and specialized training
Training course by WHO/UNICEF on breastfeeding for healthcare providers, theoretical and practical course on venous access in children and newborns, fetal cardiotocographic monitoring during labor, labor induction.
An agreement for Florim employees
It also includes an important welfare initiative that concerns all Florim employees and their families, offering discounted rates for specialized and diagnostic outpatient services in a private practice setting.
Free screenings
Florim, in collaborazione con Ospedale di Sassuolo S.p.A, offre screening gratuiti ai propri dipendenti. Negli ultimi anni sono stati promossi tre diversi progetti di screening.
"Florim mette una virgola rosa"
With the “Florim mette una virgola rosa” project, the company, in collaboration with Ospedale di Sassuolo S.p.A., encouraged all female employees to participate in screenings to prevent the most common cardiovascular and gynecological diseases.
The results achieved are notable: 191 cardiological visits and 182 gynecological visits with subsequent follow-ups have allowed for the early detection of some cases of cancers that, without this preventive activity, could have progressed and seriously compromised the health of the patients.
"Alfa Salus"
In 2023, all male employees over the age of 50 were invited to participate in an initiative aimed at the prevention of prostate cancer, the most common carcinoma in men.
The campaign – promoted by Florim together with Ospedale di Sassuolo – recorded 125 requests. The name chosen for this screening initiative has a clear meaning: “ALFA” (άλφα, alpha) is the first letter of the ancient Greek alphabet; “SALUS” refers to the goddess of health in Roman religion. “Alfa Salus” thus conveys the message of a cutting-edge project for promoting the health of Florim people, highlighting the concept of prevention.
"Uno screening per la vita"
The awareness campaign “Uno screening per la vita" organized by Florim, at the invitation of AVIS, aimed to increase the number of blood donors in the area.
AVIS healthcare staff conducted blood tests and electrocardiograms, which were analyzed with the valuable support of Dr. Ermentina Bagni and Dr. Marcella Camellini from the Ospedale di Sassuolo. 176 employees participated in the initiative. Thanks to this project, many were able to undergo health checks, and 112 individuals were found eligible to donate.
The history of the Center
2014
Inauguration of the Center. Thanks to a sophisticated control room and two highly advanced mannequins (newborn and child), the training of doctors, nurses, and midwives for handling real emergency situations begins.
2015
The Center is recognized as an authorized center by AHA, American Heart Association.
2019
The Center is enriched with three additional sophisticated mannequins capable of simulating issues related to childbirth and adult care, becoming the first center in Italy to install the latest generation of the entire "family of advanced humanoids" Accurate-Gaumard.
2022
The Santa Maria Nuova IRCCS Hospital and the USL Company of Reggio Emilia sign an agreement with Ospedale di Sassuolo S.p.A to collaborate on the training of healthcare professionals in advanced medical simulation.
2023
After 10 years since the establishment of the Health and Training Center, the partnership between Florim Spa SB and Ospedale di Sassuolo SpA is renewed and strengthened, reaffirming their shared goal in promoting a 'culture of health' for the entire community.
2024
Modena and Reggio Emilia University signs an agreement with Ospedale di Sassuolo S.p.A to collaborate on the training of doctors in the field of advanced medical simulation.
